I have been working on my second book Beyond the Pale: the artwork of Kev Grey for the past 24 months and it is finally (nearly) finished. I can't tell you how pleased I am with how it looks and can not wait for it to be printed. Keep checking back in 2011 for news of its release!
In other news, I thought this photo of Alan's neck tattoo of my swallows would make a good final post for 2010...

Morrissey Manifestation
In November of last year I gave this portrait of Morrissey away as a gift and then a couple of weeks ago - almost a year to the day I drew it - I was having a few beers with the person I gave it to and she noticed there was a strong resemblance between the foam around the edge of my pint glass and my drawing. Spooky!

School's Out is a new group show I'll be a part of at Artoyz in Paris, France starting on the 24th of June. All artists involved were asked to do their thing on a sheet of A4 school paper.

Deckades: Online Auction
My hand-painted skateboard from the Deckades show is now up for grabs in an online auction which ends on the 26th of April. It's for a good cause too with all the money going to Unicef so don't be stingy!
There are also some good images of the old 1980's skateboards from the show over on Jo Waterhouse's blog.

Deckades: Hand-Painted Skateboard
Here are a few photo's of the original 1980's skateboard I painted for the Deckades exhibition...
One of the things I used to love about skateboards from the 80's were the smaller graphics on top of the board which you would have on show by cutting a gap in your grip tape.
With this idea in mind I painted the flames on the bottom of the skateboard so they wrap around onto the sides and then onto the top of the board, so the entire skateboard makes up a complete graphic...
This is the top of the board...
And this is the main graphic on the bottom of the board...
Big thanks to howies and Shiner for asking me to be part of the show!
