After 18+ hours done over a period of two years (I also had to find a new artist halfway through the tattoo as I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the original tattooists work) my back piece is almost finished!
Still needs some more work on it to finish it off, but you get the idea. .

Deckades: Online Auction
My hand-painted skateboard from the Deckades show is now up for grabs in an online auction which ends on the 26th of April. It's for a good cause too with all the money going to Unicef so don't be stingy!

Deckades: Hand-Painted Skateboard
Here are a few photo's of the original 1980's skateboard I painted for the Deckades exhibition...
One of the things I used to love about skateboards from the 80's were the smaller graphics on top of the board which you would have on show by cutting a gap in your grip tape.
With this idea in mind I painted the flames on the bottom of the skateboard so they wrap around onto the sides and then onto the top of the board, so the entire skateboard makes up a complete graphic...

And this is the main graphic on the bottom of the board...

Deckades Exhibition
I'm pretty excited to be one of the artists asked to hand-paint an original 1980's skateboard for the Deckades exhibition opening at howies Bristol store next month.
Alongside the hand-painted boards the show will feature original skateboards from the past 3 decades which were distributed by Shiner, with boards from Dogtown, Sims, Santa Cruz, Powell Peralta, Vision, Schmitt stix, G&S, Zorlac, Alva and Santa Monica Airlines.
I'll post pictures of my board as soon as I finish painting it.

Eye Gouge Fanzine
It's been far too long since I made a fanzine (5 years to be exact) so I'm pleased to introduce my new 24 page hand-made zine, Eye Gouge!
I personally hand-cut, folded, stapled, signed and numbered each of these zines.

ROLL UP! ROLL UP!
In the tradition of sideshow banner art I have been busy hand-painting a new set of large banners to be hung on the stage at this years The Wet Spot.
Original sideshow banners were always big, with a bold use of colour and clean, simple artwork making sure it would stand out a mile. They would generally be painted to promote individual performers who traveled with the sideshow, like this one for the Armless Wonder..
However as The Wet Spot features different performers at each show it would be far too time consuming to paint new banners for each of the acts so my take on this has been to paint portraits of pin-ups watching the show, all with their eyes on the stage.
Here are a couple of work in progress shots taken in my studio over the last five days...
